JOB SUMMARY Castilleja School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Academic Technology Support Specialist to join
our technology team. Castilleja is an independent school, for all-girls, grades 6-12. This full-time position
(100% FTE) will support the Director of Technology in advancing the school’s educational technology
initiatives and ensure seamless integration of technology tools into the academic environment. The ideal
candidate will work closely with students and faculty to enhance learning experiences in and out of the
classroom and support the use of educational technology throughout the school.
This position reports to the Director of Technology but works as part of the Castilleja Technology
Department, a collaborative, high-functioning team of technology professionals who support the entire
Castilleja community. This is an onsite position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Technology Integration and Support
- Assist in the implementation and management of educational technology projects.
- Provide hands-on support for faculty and students using educational tools, applications,
- and platforms as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to educational technology applications, our learning management system (LMS), and other classroom technology.
- Respond to support tickets related to academic technology needs.
2. Training and Professional Development
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions for faculty and staff as needed.
- Develop and help maintain documentation, tutorials, and resources for technology use.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in edtech and recommend enhancements.
3. System Deployment and Maintenance
- Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing academic tech tools and resources.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the LMS and other instructional tools.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Director of Technology to align technology initiatives with instructional goals.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate technology into curriculum planning and classroom activities.
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting and optimizing technology use in teaching and
- learning.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in an educational setting, preferably grades 6-12.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (Schoology or Toddle experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with common educational tools and platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Canva, Formative, Quizlet).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for working with middle and high school students and teachers in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in professional development or training in educational technology.
- Knowledge of coding, robotics, or STEM-related technologies is a plus.
- Prior experience in an independent school setting is desirable.
Compensation and Benefits:
Castilleja pays competitively and commensurate with experience. The school provides a full
benefits package for eligible employees including medical, vision, dental insurance,
employee assistance program, life/long term disability insurance, and a 403 (b) retirement
program with a match after one year. The salary range for this position is $ 85,000 to $100,000.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as well as be able to kneel, bend,
climb ladder and stand and sit for extended periods of time. This position also requires the ability to
walk throughout the day to various locations on campus.
The Academic Technology Support Specialist will work in a dynamic and innovative educational
setting, collaborating closely with faculty, staff, and students to enhance learning outcomes.
