About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for an Associate Athletic Director, Ticket Operations. 

Reporting to the Associate AD, Business Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and operational activities of Athletics ticket operations while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations. 

The position will provide administration and support of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Ticket Office, and work with Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications, Development, and Athletics Business Office to maintain a professional, organized and customer friendly ticket experience.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement and manage policies and procedures as they relate to ticket and game operations.
  • Prepares needs assessments, recommend improvements, solutions, and recommends strategies for optimization of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain ticket software and partner (vendor?) relationship; ensure front-end fan-facing systems are working effectively. 
  • Build full season and partial plans, single events and price codes for all athletic events.
  • Responsible for the fulfillment of season, group and individual ticket requests. Oversight of all ticket delivery systems, including digital and hard ticket delivery in a timely manner. 
  • Oversight of all staff and recruit tickets; abiding by all NCAA rules and regulations. 
  • Create and implement online ticketing promotions, timelines, and pricing strategy to ensure maximization of revenue.
  • Generate reports based on promotions, sales, inventory, balance past due, etc.
  • Collaborate with Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications, Development with reports and database maintenance.
  • Work with Development Office regarding donor relations, premium seating and priority points.
  • Research issues concerning customer accounts, ticket printing and internet and online purchases.
  • Oversight of all ticket office financials; maintaining an accurate record of tickets to athletic events, receipts, and disbursements. Coordinate ticket exchanges, billing and invoicing, and all related activities with representatives from other universities.
  • Develop, implement and maintain all aspects of customer service programs for the ticket office.
  • Supervise ticket office staff and activities (planning, ordering and selling of tickets to all athletic events).
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). 
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor?s Degree.

Required Experience

Seven (7) years of experience in ticket office operations.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Ticketmaster experience. 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
