Role:
To assist customers with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• 55% – Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to customers; transfers amounts from customer accounts as directed.
• 10% – Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
• 10% – Posts transactions to customer accounts and maintains customer records.
• 10% – Welcomes customers and provides routine information concerning services and directs them to the appropriate department for specific information and service.
• 5% – Cross-sells the financial institution's services.
• 5% – Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input, and answering the telephone.
• 5% – Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers and associates.
Balance your drawer daily, being no more than $X off and with total discrepancies not to exceed $XX in a given month.
Process an average of XX transactions per hour.
Accurately post transactions, having fewer than X unresolved posting errors in a 30-day period.
Troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the customer.
Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (customers or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills: Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
