Big Commerce Architect

Duration: 6+ Months C2H

Location: Las Vegas, NV (Remote with Travel)

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the overall architecture and technical roadmap for BigCommerce implementations.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable eCommerce solutions on BigCommerce, including headless commerce architectures.
• Lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
• Integrate BigCommerce with third-party services, ERP, CRM, PIM, OMS, and payment gateways.
• Optimize site performance, security, and scalability.
• Define coding standards, best practices, and reusable components.
• Work closely with UI/UX teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Conduct code reviews and troubleshoot performance and security issues.
• Stay up to date with BigCommerce releases, APIs, and industry trends.
• Provide leadership in decision-making regarding technology choices, development approaches, and deployment strategies.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in eCommerce development, with at least 3+ years on BigCommerce.
• Strong experience in BigCommerce Stencil theme development, APIs, and headless commerce.
• Expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, or Vue.js for frontend development.
• Experience integrating BigCommerce with third-party applications using RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
• Deep understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of eCommerce workflows, product catalogs, checkout processes, and payment processing.
• Experience with composable commerce, MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) architecture is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile teams.
