Internship Program at WM

Our Internship Program at WM is a 12-week paid program focused on supporting your education with experiential learning. As a WM Intern, you will interact with and conduct various duties and responsibilities for one or more functional teams to develop new skills and learn new areas of the business. Interns gain practical experience, relevant to their field of study, prior to college graduation.

I. Job Summary

We are looking for a Digital Business Analysis Intern to assist in enhancing self-service automation on our website. This role will involve gathering business requirements, analyzing customer interactions, identifying areas for improvement, and working with cross-functional teams to optimize self-service solutions. The intern will gain hands-on experience in business analysis, process improvement, business Impact Analysis and digital transformation.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
  • Analyze user interactions with self-service features on the website to identify pain points and enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements and capturing business Impact for the self-service features.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer needs and define solution requirements.
  • Support the development and testing of self-service enhancements by coordinating with UX, development, and QA teams.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and research best practices for self-service features and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance metrics related to self-service adoption and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports, process flow diagrams, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

Education: Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship. Completed Course Work Hours: 60.0

Experience: No prior work experience required.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
  • Must be eligible to work full time from May 19 - August 15
D. Other Knowledge Skills or Abilities Preferred
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with business process analysis, user experience principles, or automation tools is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of web technologies, and Content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
