Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Project Manager to oversee and ensure the successful completion of existing data center projects in the Atlanta area. This role involves managing all aspects of the Day 2 deployment, including rack builds, patching, change orders, fiber/copper connectivity, and full financial oversight. The ideal candidate will be confident in leading deployments, tracking project milestones, and ensuring all equipment and materials are on-site and accounted for.

This role requires strong project management expertise, hands-on technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Microsoft employees and other stakeholders. Projects range from $500k -$1mil, requiring financial oversight, change order management, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, troubleshooting, and completion of Data Center projects, including racking and stacking servers, switches, and routers.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets and objectives.
  • Coordinate fiber and copper connectivity (pre-terminated) and ensure proper patching.
  • Track equipment deliveries from Microsoft, verify completeness, and coordinate any missing materials.
  • Lead change order managementanalyzing scope changes, adjusting budgets, and obtaining client approvals.
  • Maintain P&L responsibilitytracking labor, materials, and costs to ensure profitability.
  • Conduct kick-off meetings, walk-throughs, and ongoing client interactions to manage expectations.
  • Ensure safety and security compliance within the data center environment.
  • Work closely with installation technicians, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Regularly report project progress, identifying risks and proactively resolving challenges.
  • Prepare and deliver project closeout documentation, including warranty terms and lessons learned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within data centers or critical infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience managing project budgets up to $500k - $1mil.
  • Experience with rack building, fiber/copper patching, and structured cabling.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, construction technology, and deployment processes.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls and change orders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Valid drivers license required.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • RCDD, BICSI, or PMP certification (a plus but not required).
  • Previous experience working on Microsoft data center projects.
  • Experience handling multiple projects and managing subcontractor relationships.
  • Familiarity with change management and escalation procedures in hyperscale data centers.

  • Salary: $90,000 $110,000 per year
