The Perishable Sales Specialist will consult, advise, and direct retail customer base on the best practices to grow fresh market share and increased perishable revenue and profitability. The position will engage decision makers and Independent Retailers to assist with the sales and merchandising of meat, Deli and Produce categories as well as work to increase the volume of products and programs that the company offers.

• Full Time

You will contribute by:

• Executing quarterly sell programs
• Supporting Reset Activities, including new store/ red-design set-up
• Providing regular on new items, merchandising and departmental best practices
• Informing special activities, demand forecasts, product surveys and promotional bookings
• Optimizing and closing key in conjunction with and merchandising/Procurement team(s)
• Assisting Fresh department managers, owners, and/or supervisors with product selection, training on new products and proper merchandising, retails to establish proper gross profits for departments, assisting writing ads using ad program, and maintaining the product list with acceptable retails
• Making routed individual store visits to assist retailers in achieving and maintaining a business relationship with the company, including problem solving, negotiating, and development of programs while securing integrity and trust between our company and the retailer
• Selling special buy programs and the associated merchandising programs
• Informing both the retailer and team of competitive activities both locally and nationally
• Conducting sales of new programs and services; understanding and explaining the company's programs and services to the retailer's buyers / representatives

• Office: Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)
• Store: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

?  We’re searching for candidates with:

• Understanding of all technical and managerial supermarket functions all facets – some wholesale knowledge understanding of transportation, schedules, and equipment ; Knowledge of product procurement and vendor relations
• Perishable product and supply chain knowledge
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written, time management negotiating abilities, problem solving, interpersonal relationship, financials related to supermarkets P&L's
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excellent presentation skills; Ability to be flexible
• Other: Food Safety Certified or Food Safety Certification Eligible

Years Of Experience

• 2-5: years of retail and wholesale perishables

Qualifications

Associate Degree - General Studies, Bachelor's Degree - General Studies
