ACARA Solutions and our client have a 100% REMOTE direct hire position available 

Director of Information Technology Security (with a Manufacturing background)

The position offers a competitive salary with a performance bonus of up to 25% , a full benefits package including RSUs and 401K , and minimal travel .

Preferred: Candidates should have a strong leadership background.  You will be leading the globe IT/Security Team.  Manufacturing background is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Strategy & Leadership:

• Develop and lead global security strategy.
• Build a security-conscious culture and mentor a team of ~30 security professionals.

Incident Response & Threat Management:

• Manage the incident response program and improve it through data analytics and post-incident reviews.

Policy Development & Compliance:

• Implement security policies aligned with regulations (e.g., ITAR US Government compliance, DFAR, ITAR, and CMMC) .
• Stay current on security threats and compliance requirements.

Technology & Innovation:

• Maximize current technologies and introduce new solutions to enhance security.

Risk Management & Governance:

• Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with DFAR, NIST, CMMC guidelines.

Vendor Management:

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and keep the CIO/CISO informed of security trends.

Requirements:

• Expertise in data management, IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, HIPAA).
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences, including executives.
• U.S. Government compliance experience (DFAR, CMMC).
• 15+ years of IT experience, 5+ years in senior-level IT security leadership (preferably in manufacturing).

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

The Director of Information Security is responsible for leading and managing a company's security strategy and ensuring the protection of its data and systems. This involves overseeing security operations, incident responses, and ensuring compliance with global regulations (including for the Aerospace and Defense sector). The role requires a strong understanding of security best practices and the ability to lead a team in protecting the organization from cyber threats.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 

15 years of IT experience with a proven track record of risk management and information security roles

5 years of experience in a Senior-level IT leadership role within a large, complex organization within manufacturing

Experience US Government compliance, DFAR, ITAR, and CMMC
