The primary responsibility of the Entertainment Officer - Security is to protect guests, Team Members, property, and performers in the Venetian Entertainment venues and event areas. The Security Entertainment Officer is also responsible for managing and directing crowds, maintaining order within theaters and event spaces, and providing emergency assistance when necessary.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.
· Operates security screening checkpoints at event venues, to include bag checks, operating metal detectors and security screening devices, and ticket validation.
· Provides crowd control and crowd management for events.
· Performs traffic control and crossing guard duties.
· Provides celebrity and VIP escorts and VIP event security.
· Maintain a visible deterrent to crime and undesirable activity.
· Assists guests and utilizes conflict resolution techniques to resolve disputes or arguments.
· Maintains order and enforces Venetian rules and policies in the event spaces and public venues.
· At the direction of Security Management, trespass individuals engaged in illegal or disruptive activity, including possible detainment and police notification.
· Investigates incidents, accidents, and/or events to include taking initial reports and conducting interviews with appropriate follow-up actions.
· Responds to emergency situations that occur in assigned area and takes appropriate steps to rectify problems and minimize Company liability, including possibly providing first aid, CPR, or other first-responder emergency care.
· Executes emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed by manager.
· Monitors and assists in the enforcement of property policies and procedures, regulations, federal, state and local laws.
· This position requires frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, traffic control, and performing arrests and detainments.
· This position requires a high level of guest service skills, including close coordination and interaction with VIPs, dignitaries, celebrities, and public figures.
· This position will cross-train with Hotel and Casino Security Officers and will occasionally be required to assist with security operations in the Venetian Hotel and Casino areas.
· This position requires the officer to complete all required training, including a Security Academy in which the officer will be exposed to eye irritant (pepper spray) and Defensive Tactics training.

Minimum Qualifications
· 21 years of age.
· Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Must be able to obtain/possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License, Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
· Prior experience in civilian or military law enforcement, casino/hotel security, industrial security, or related field preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses and draft legible, factual reports.
· Knowledge of general first aid preferred.
· Familiarity with federal, state and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.
· Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
· Possess skills to serve the public trust and establish peace.
· Must be able to address stressful situations with others with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
· Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to:
· Lift or carry 46 lbs., push/pull 100 ft/lbs. unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned at a distance of approximately 1713 ft.
· Administer CPR.
· Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation, including the ability to climb stairs.
· Frequent bending from the waist (5 times per minute), squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, lying down, crawling, knee standing, pushing and pulling for approximately 33% of the work day.
· Climb in and out of a company vehicle.
· Stand and/or walk for up to 2 hours at one time and for approximately 4 to 6 hours in a work day.
· Sit up to 4 hours at one time and for approximately 4 hours in a work day.
· Drive a truck up to 60 minutes at one time and for approximately 3 hours in a work day.
· Maintain composure under pressure while maintaining a high level of guest service.
· Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
· Must be able to perform eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
· Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
· Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
· Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
